My review is not solely based on Duvel Pierre's location but my experience in cancelling my policy is what prompted it. First of all, I find it ridiculous that I could not cancel my policy online or on the app. Even APS let me close my account online and gave me my remaining amount due within two days, and they are notoriously difficult to deal with. I called and cancelled my renter's insurance over a week ago but got absolutely no confirmation that it had cancelled. I waited a week and called again leaving a message explaining that I was looking for confirmation that it did cancel and left my number. No response. I had to call again since they never bothered to get a hold of me and was told that it was cancelled but they just don't send anything out to confirm it because all I had was the renter's insurance. Seems ridiculous to me that they wouldn't even send out an email considering that I could still log in to the app and website which both gave the impression of an active policy. I also still don't know if I owe any amount for the partial month it was active after my last payment. My overall experience with State Farm has been similar. They like to say that you have your agent and it makes it easier but I was constantly shuffled from one agent to another. In about three years I had six or seven different agents, some lasting no longer than a month or two before I got notified that I had a new one. My rates got raised from $12 to $17 with no warning, no letter, no email. I got on to pay my bill and that's how I found out. Overall I could have continued with State Farm for my new apartment but I'm just so tired of dealing with them that I'm willing to pay more for a company with actual customer service.
